You remember Thomas Brodnicki, right? The guy who allegedly confided in his shrink and shared that he's had many conversations with God about killing Selena Gomez. Well, a Los Angeles judge has dismissed the stalking charge against the 46-year-old Illinois man.

Los Angeles County District Attorney spokesperson Sandi Gibbons' tells E! News, "After a preliminary hearing the judge over our strong objection ruled that the defendant lacked the intent to cause fear to the victim and dismissed the case. We are evaluating our next step."

The prosecutors were given a chance to supply sufficient evidence to the judge, but failed to do so, which means Brodnicki—who does have a temporary restraining order in place keeping him 100 yards away from Gomez—has been released. Yeah, WTF is right.
A hearing on whether that order should be made permanent will be held on Nov. 23 at a Burbank courthouse.
