Beyoncé and Jay-Z pick up some tips as they show support for Erica Reid's book The Thriving Child at launch
As first
time parents, the thought of raising a child to be healthy and happy can
sometimes be a daunting one.
And last
night Beyoncé and Jay-Z proved that even celebrity parents turn to parenting
manuals and guide books for advice, as they attended the launch party for
friend Erica Reid's book The Thriving Child.
Beyoncé
showed off her stunning post-baby body in a form-fitting teal dress,
highlighting her tiny waist with a thin belt for the occasion, while husband
Jay-Z in a printed T-shirt and denim jacket.
The
30-year-old singer, who welcomed Blue Ivy, her first child with Jay-Z, in January,
left her blonde hair down and straight for the event, pairing her outfit with a
pair of hoop earrings.
The pair
looked more in love than ever at the party, held at a private residence in New
York, with Jay-Z smiling as he playfully pinched his wife's cheeks while the
pair posed up for photographers.
Beyoncé and
Jay-Z were joined at the event by other famous faces including Mary J. Blige,
with the two female singers pulling in author Reid for a tight hug at the
event.
Jay-Z and
Beyoncé just can’t seem to keep their loving hands off each other! The new
parents attended a book launch in NYC last night, in support of Erica Reid’s
latest, The Thriving Child. Erica is the wife of music mogul L.A. Reid, and her
book chronicles her experience raising two kids with allergies and asthma. In
addition to Erica’s journey, it also includes advice from top medical
professionals and other celebrity moms. Blue Ivy’s Aunty Mary J. Blige was also
on hand for the launch.
Reid, the
wife of X Factor USA judge L.A. Reid, decided to pen her bestselling book The
Thriving Child: Parenting Successfully through Allergies, Asthma and Other
Common Challenges after discovering that both her son and daughter suffered
from serious allergies and irritations since birth.
Reid, who is
mother to 11-year-old daughter Arianna and eight-year-old son Addison, said in
a recent interview that she believes in a firm but fair approach to parenting.
She said: 'I
love my children, I am very sweet to them but I'm also very firm with them, and
they don't get their way with every single thing.
Clearly
being super playful and affectionate is what got Jay-Z and Bey little Blue in
the first place. Hopefully they snapped up a copy or two of Erica’s book to
keep on hand for the child rearing lessons in their future. The Thriving Child
is available on Amazon.

Team Blake's Jermaine
Paul is crowned winner of The Voice.
Alicia Keys'
former backup singer has finally been given his time to shine.
Jermaine
Paul, Team Blake's consistently competent R&B singer, was crowned as winner
on tonight's season finale of The Voice.
His victory
was surprising only in the fact that it was anticlimactic, as he has been
considered one of the front-runners all along.
Coach Blake Shelton
couldn't have looked happier to hear the results Paul and Shelton hug it out on
The Voice stage
He believes: Jermaine's
wife stood by his side as he sang 'I Believe I Can Fly'
The final four:
Jermaine Paul, Chris Mann, Juliet Simms and Tony Lucca.
But, as
coach Blake Shelton said, Paul deserved to win 'because of his talent. He's
figuring out what he wants to do, and he can do anything.'
Paul was
understandably emotional after having been relegated to backup singer status
for so many years.
The singer
got emotional while saying: 'I just wanted to say thank you to everyone that
voted for me. God bless y'all, man. Nobody but Jesus, man, nobody!'
After
thanking the Lord, he also remembered to thank his wife, children and parents.
