Beautiful in black: Angelina Jolie, Stacy Keibler, Emma Stone and Amber Heard stick to dark and dramatic gowns on the red carpet at the SAG Awards

It's the staple colour of any wardrobe and it appeared that tonight on the red carpet stars stuck to the black is best mantra.
Angelina Jolie, Stacy Keibler, Emma Stone and Amber Heard led the stars in the dark and dramatic style stepping out in sleek shiny gowns, lashing of lace and cut out creations at the Screen Actors Guild Awards this evening.
Miss Jolie arrived with her partner Brad Pitt and the 36-year-old sashayed up the carpet in her draped Grecian style gown in black lamé.
Angelina gave some tips to aspiring actors and said: 'I think the most important think is to have a very full life.'
Brad dropped hints the Hollywood's power couple would love to work together on screen again and said: 'We’re planning on it we haven’t seen anything specific, but we want to. We are working on it.'
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie and George Clooney and Stacy Keibler opted for all-black outfits

Stacy Keibler also stepped out in black but she had donned a lace, off-the shoulder creation by Marchesa, which boasted a fishtail train.
The former wrestler was beaming as she made her way up the red carpet on the arm of George Clooney who looked dapper in midnight blue Giorgio Armani.
Clooney, who was nominated for a SAG told Guiliana Rancic that he was happy people had been so positive about The Descendants.
He said: 'It’s always nice when people are nice to you but it’s nice when they like the stuff because sometimes they don’t.'
Stacy joked that she had seen the film four times but admitted she loved it.
Kelly Osbourne treated fans to a sneak peek of her red carpet outfit ahead of the SAG Awards.
The 27-year-old was among the first to arrive at the event as she prepared to perform duties as a E!'s fashion correspondent.
She tweeted a portrait along with the caption: 'I looooooove my dress so much!'
The star chose a stylish white Badgley Mischka frock that cinched in at the waist, perhaps taking inspiration from all the light gowns seen at the Golden Globe awards earlier this month.
Kelly's E! co-presenter Giuliana Rancic opted for a scarlet Basil Soda gown with fierce gold metal detailing.
One of the first stars to step out onto the red carpet was singer Ashlee Simpson, who stepped out in a Jenny Packham gown with a short blonde crop and she spoke about her heavily pregnant sister.
Speaking about Jessica she said: ‘She’s completely content she’s so happy it’s fun to be around her.’
Diana Lane wore a blue hammered satin one shoulder evening gown by David Meister a popular designer for the evening and The Artist star Penelope Ann Miller donned cobalt blue embroidered tulle cap sleeve gown by the same designer.

Nominated actor Arnie Hammer walked the red carpet with his gorgeous wife Elizabeth Chambers and the pair were both wearing Gucci.

Before stars graced the carpet a bomb scare forced the Shrine Auditorium to be cleared out.
The auditorium, located on West Jefferson Boulevard in Los Angeles, was evacuated along with the red carpet set-up this afternoon.
Deadline.com reported that bomb-sniffing dogs were brought to the area after those in the theater were told to leave ‘immediately’.
A spokesman with the Los Angeles Police Department, however, told MailOnline that they knew of no security threat at the auditorium.
The Good Wife star Julianna Margulies donned glittering white Paz Vega opted for monochrome while Jayma Mays dressed in black covered in sequins
The venue also hosts major L.A. events like the Emmy Awards, the People’s Choice Awards and the Oscars.
Meanwhile, all eyes will son be on the stage as the 18th annual honours given by Hollywood's main acting union kicks off Sunday.
The best-actress category features Meryl Streep as Thatcher in The Iron Lady and Michelle Williams as Monroe in My Week with Marilyn. Leonardo DiCaprio is up for best actor as FBI boss in J. Edgar, while My Week with Marilyn co-stars supporting-actor nominee Kenneth Branagh as Olivier.
Streep won a Golden Globe for The Iron Lady and is considered a favouritism for the SAG prize and for her third win at the Academy Awards, which are set for Feb. 26.
The front-runners for the other SAG awards are actors in fictional roles, though, among them George Clooney as a dad in crisis in The Descendants and Jean Dujardin as a silent-film star fallen on hard times in The Artist.

Both are up for best actor, and both won Globes - Clooney as dramatic actor, Dujardin as musical or comedy actor.
Octavia Spencer as a brassy Mississippi maid in The Help and Christopher Plummer as an elderly dad who comes out as gay in Beginners won Globes for supporting performances and have strong prospects for the same honours at the SAG Awards.
The winners at the SAG ceremony typically go on to earn Oscars. All four acting recipients at SAG last year later took home Oscars - Colin Firth for The King's Speech, Natalie Portman for Black Swan and Christian Bale and Melissa Leo for The Fighter.
The same generally holds true for the weekend's other big Hollywood honours, the Directors Guild of America Awards, where Michel Hazanavicius won the feature-film prize Saturday for The Artist.
The Directors Guild winner has gone on to earn the best-director Oscar 57 times in the 63-year history of the union's awards show.
SAG also presents an award for overall cast performance, a prize that's loosely considered the ceremony's equivalent of a best-picture honor.
However, the cast award has a spotty record at predicting what will win best picture at the Oscars.
While The King's Speech won both honors a year ago, the SAG cast recipient has gone on to claim the top Oscar only eight times in the 16 years since the guild added the category.
