Cover girl: Katy looks stunning on the front cover of the magazine

Emma Stone for Vogue US July 2012.
With Emma Stone’s profile continuing to rise, I knew it was only a matter of time before fashion’s current it-girl landed a Vogue cover – especially since she’s currently promoting ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’.
The actress and Revlon girl was shot by Mario Testino wearing a Nina Ricci dress on the cover.
We also get to see her wearing a pretty Jil Sander dress, a printed Dries Van Noten ensemble with a Stephen Jones cap and a fun lace Versus dress.
She talks to Vogue about struggling to come to terms with being a ‘movie star’ and she also discusses the moment she realised what fashion actually meant.
You can read the whole interview over at Vogue.com. Here are some extracts from her interview.
On realising what fashion actually meant: “It was a red dress (Lanvin gown at the 2011 BAFTAs), it was asymmetrical, and the minute I put it on I thought, Oh, this is what fashion does for people. It makes them feel like it’s an extension of themselves.”
On struggling to come to terms with the concept of being a bonafide ‘movie star’: “The concept of ‘movie star’ is something that you can never wrap your head around. Not being a cog in the machine, there being guys in New York with cameras – it feels like it’s happening to a different person. That loss of anonymity, not being able to just sit and watch in certain circumstances, is very strange.”
On never wanting to dress like anyone else: “I never really wanted to dress like anyone – well, that’s not true. I probably wanted to dress like Diane Keaton, but that’s just because I love her so much…She’s really herself, and that’s what I like.”
Director Marc Webb on Emma: “A lot of young actresses are either very serious or doe-eyed. Emma sidesteps that.”
Producer Matt Tolmach on: “She’s stunning, so she’s disarming.”
Co-star/boyfriend Andrew Garfield: “Working with Emma was like diving into a thrilling, twisting river and never holding on to the sides.”
