It's Better Than A Dream! Katie Melua debuts her stunning ring after getting engaged to biker boyfriend James Toseland

It can be the most difficult part of popping the question for any man - finding the perfect ring.

But it seems Katie Melua's new fiancé James Toseland did a good job, judging by the way the 27-year-old was showing off her stunning square-cut diamond ring during a recent performance at Ronnie Scott's jazz club.

The singer debuted her new bling during the performance, after former World Superbike champion James announced the pair's happy news on his Facebook page.

He wrote: 'I asked Katie to marry me and she said yes. As you can imagine, I am a very happy man right now!'

Katie and James started dating last April after meeting at one of her concerts at Sheffield City Hall.

And James, 31, speaking previously about Katie's support following a traumatic accident which ended his biking career after he broke both his wrists.

Since then, James had made a name for himself as a talented pianist.

He said: 'Katie has been great. She had no interest in me whatsoever because I was a motorcycle racer. She hadn’t heard of me. She wouldn’t even know what Valentino Rossi looked like.

'It was only because her piano player was such a fan that he kept talking about it on the tour bus after he’d met me.

'It was nice and a relief for someone so established to be attracted to me because of my personality.'

As well as getting engaged, Katie has been working hard on her own musical career, promoting her fifth studio album Secret Symphony in recent weeks.

 Katie's new fiancé James Toseland announced on his Facebook page that he had popped the question;

Talking about the record, released next month, Katie said: 'Well this is an album where I just wanted to sing my heart out.

'I have recorded all of my albums with orchestras before but this is the first time where I wanted to focus on the orchestra and make it an orchestral based album - and so the song Secret Symphony was born out of that idea.'

The first single from the album is Better Than A Dream, but Katie admitted she found it difficult to choose which one to release first.

She said: 'I have always been rubbish at picking singles so I always let the people around me help me to decide what the best first song is.

'It’s just a case of playing it to people and seeing what they react to and what strikes their fancy and this was the song that people reacted to really well.'

Katie Melua's Secret Symphony is due for release on March 5th,

But last night, it looked very much like Vanessa Bryant and her basketball playing husband Kobe could be getting back together when she was spotted supporting him at the LA Lakers game.

The glamorous 29-year-old star looked happy and relaxed sitting in the stands of the Staples Centre cheering the basketball superstar on to victory against the Atlanta Hawks.

They were later spotted sharing a kiss in the tunnel on the way to the locker room.

 According to TMZ, the couple, who married back in April 2001, are working on a reconciliation.

The news comes despite recent news that the couple have sealed a property deal as part of their divorce settlement with Vanessa set to take their three Newport beach homes.

The newest property has been under construction for the past two years.

And despite Kobe and Vanessa submitting all the necessary documents, their divorce won't become final until mid-June, according to the website.

Therefore there is still time to withdraw the papers.

However, despite last night's show of affection, the couple are not back living together yet, TMZ reports.

When the news of the separation broke last year, TMZ also reported that the couple had no pre-nuptial agreement, and that Vanessa had requested spousal support.

Kobe and Vanessa have two daughters together - nine-year-old Natalia and Gianna, five.

Initial reports on the divorce settlement claimed that Vanessa would receive the sum of $75million, which is said to be close to half of the couple's total assets.

Vanessa is also said to have asked for joint custody of their daughters with Kobe getting visitation rights, meaning the children would spend most of the time in her care.

The pair met when she was just 18, when she was working as a backing dancer in a studio where he was recording, though that material was never released to the public.

Vanessa is being represented by Laura Wasser and attorney Samantha Klein, whose clients include Britney Spears, Angelina Jolie, Maria Shriver and Kim Kardashian.

All profits from make up sold go to HIV/AIDS charities so it's a tremendous cause and quite an honour for the 27-year-old, who is famed for her love of rainbow hues.

And tonight she launched her lipstick, which is a virulent pink, of course, at a candy coloured party held at New York's Stage 37.

Joined by Martin, all eyes were understandably on Minaj, who was wearing her shade which tied in with a pink, blue and purple dress with matching jacket.

Given the frenzied palette on her outfit, Minaj opted to keep her hair a Bardot style blonde.

But she didn't hold back on the accessories one bit, and stacked up bracelets and rings - all in candy coloured shades to tie in with the theme.
