Colour chameleon Nicki Minaj wears
green and pink hair in playful new shoot for Paper magazine;
She's had
her hair in every colour in the rainbow, often gravitating towards her
favourite Barbie pink.
But Nicki
Minaj has tried a brand new shade in a new photo shoot for Paper magazine.
The zany
29-year-old singer turned green for the cover of the fashion publication's
Spring 2012 edition.
Running her
fingers through her emerald curly locks, the Super Bass star also shows off her
curves in a pastel-hued range of attire.
For
sorbet-inspired inside shots, Nicki's usual fairy-floss coloured hair is paired
with a matching low-cut dress, which shows off plenty of her cleavage.
The look is
completed with a lemon-coloured fitted blazer.
For the
cover, the wardrobe is reversed and the singer is seen in a bright yellow dress
and melon-coloured jacket.
The outfit
are rather low-key for the zany singer, who usually takes to the stage in an
assortment of rubber and latex outrageous designs.
Nicki most
recently joined Madonna for her spectacular Super Bowl half-time show.
Alongside
British rapper M.I.A., the trio perform the Queen Of Pop's new single Give Me
All Your Luvin.
However the
performance was meet with some controversy after M.I.A. swore at the camera and
gave the middle finger salute.
Madonna has
since spoken out about the spectacle labeling it 'negative' and 'such a
teenager thing to do'.
She told
Ryan Seacrest on his radio show Kiss FM this morning: ‘I was really surprised.
I didn’t know anything about it. I mean I wasn’t happy about it. I understand
it’s punk rock and everything, but to me there was such a feeling of love and
good energy, and positivity it just seemed negative.’
She added:
‘It’s one of those things it’s such a teenager…irrelevant thing to do…there was
such a feeling of love and unity there what was the point? It was just out of
place.’
Meanwhile,
in an accompanying interview with Paper magazine, Minaj revealed that her style
icons included Grace Jones and Cyndi Lauper, which is unsurprising given her
quirky fashion choices.
'Grace Jones
definitely. So amazing. And Cyndi Lauper, I loved her right from when I was a
little girl,' she said. 'And Janet Jackson of course. And Boy George. I always
loved the way he dressed, and his music too.
She also
admitted that her guilty pleasure was reality shows such as Mob Wives and the
Real Housewives franchise.
'I love Big
Ang — what is that? And I love the way those girls talk to each other: “Don’t
YOU be coming at ME!!!” I love every freakin’ moment,” she said of Mob Wives.
'And I watch
The Real Housewives of Atlantaand Beverly Hills. Taylor and Adrienne and the
girls.'
