She added: ‘It’s one of those things it’s such a teenager…irrelevant thing to do…there was such a feeling of love and unity there what was the point? It was just out of place.’
Meanwhile, in an accompanying interview with Paper magazine, Minaj revealed that her style icons included Grace Jones and Cyndi Lauper, which is unsurprising given her quirky fashion choices.
'Grace Jones definitely. So amazing. And Cyndi Lauper, I loved her right from when I was a little girl,' she said. 'And Janet Jackson of course. And Boy George. I always loved the way he dressed, and his music too.

She also admitted that her guilty pleasure was reality shows such as Mob Wives and the Real Housewives franchise.
'I love Big Ang — what is that? And I love the way those girls talk to each other: “Don’t YOU be coming at ME!!!” I love every freakin’ moment,” she said of Mob Wives.
'And I watch The Real Housewives of Atlantaand Beverly Hills. Taylor and Adrienne and the girls.'
